Trackman iO Now Measures Attack Angle and Low Point Across the Full Bag
Trackman’s latest iO update makes Attack Angle and Low Point available across the full bag, including irons and wedges.
Attack Angle had previously been available for woods and hybrids. Coaches and players can now measure these impact parameters from driver through to the scoring clubs.
This creates an important opportunity for indoor golf practice.
Trackman iO can measure:
- Whether the clubhead is moving upward or downward at impact.
- Where the bottom of the swing arc occurs relative to the ball.
- How these impact conditions change between clubs and shot intentions.
When this data is collected on a Zen Swing Stage, another variable can be added:
What was the condition of the ground when the impact occurred?
A golfer may produce one Attack Angle and Low Point pattern from a flat lie, another from an uphill lie, and another from a downhill lie. These changes should not automatically be interpreted as technical errors. They may represent functional adaptations to slope, balance, gravity and the intended shot.

What Does Angle of Attack Mean?
Angle of attack describes whether the club is moving upward or downward at impact.

What Does Trackman Low Point Measure?

When the golfer is hitting down, the bottom of the arc occurs after impact. When the golfer is hitting up, it occurs before impact.
Attack Angle describes the direction in which the clubhead is traveling at impact. Low Point gives the golfer and coach a spatial representation of where that impact sits within the wider swing arc.

On a slope, they do not.
