SHEFFIELD, UK – – British technology firm Zen Golf announced today that PING, a long-time leader in putter innovation and performance, will be adding a Green Stage adjustable putting green to the PING Putting Lab inside the PING Proving Grounds at its global headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona.
The Green Stage is PING’s second, with the first Zen having been installed in the PING Performance Research Centre at Loughborough University in the UK in the summer of 2021.
PING will also provide golf equipment for visitors to Zen’s booth #ETC13 at the 2025 PGA Show in Orlando, FL from 22-24 January, to use for hitting breaking putts and shots off sloping lies on Zen’s Green Stage and Swing Stage moving platforms.
The Zen Green Stage, which crucially creates compound breaks and double breaks as well as planar slopes, enables golfers to hit a near-limitless amount of different breaking putts in a single compact space. It will be used by PING engineers, researchers and master putter fitters at its Phoenix facility for a variety of purposes including product testing and custom-fitting.
PING has also recently used a Zen Swing Stage in the UK to extend its research and testing to other clubs in the bag.
Paul Wood, VP Engineering at PING, said: “Our company was founded by Karsten Solheim, an engineer and frustrated golfer who wanted to improve his putting, so he applied his expertise in physics to the design of a better putter. Improving putter technology and helping golfers putt better has been a cornerstone of PING ever since.
“The addition of the movable Zen Green Stage allows us to continue that mission by unlocking valuable insights into what golfers experience on the putting green, leading to improved putter designs and fitting techniques.”
Andy Hiseman, VP Global Sales & Marketing at Zen Golf, said: “As the pioneers of accurately-adjustable golf playing surfaces nothing gives our team greater pride than to be selected as a technology provider by world-class organizations such as PING.
“Our relationship with PING is one of our most-valued in the sport. The fact that they entrust the Green Stage to create true, real-world putting scenarios for their customers, which include Tour golfers, coaches and custom-fitters, sends out a strong message of quality to the industry.”
PING will soon install a 20ft Zen Green Stage, the largest model from the Zen range, at its Phoenix facility. The Green Stage is also available in 16ft and 12ft sizes, with its sister product the Zen Swing Stage, which produces robust slopes for hitting full shots indoors off gradients, sized at 6ft.

ABOUT PING
www.ping.golf | @pingtour
PING designs, manufactures and markets a complete line of golf equipment including metal woods, irons, wedges, putters and golf bags. The family-owned company was founded in 1959 in the garage of the late Karsten Solheim, a mechanical engineer with an extensive background in the aerospace and computer industries. His frustration with his putting inspired him to design his own putter, which created a “pinging” sound when striking a golf ball. This sound was the source of the name now synonymous with innovation, quality and service throughout the world of golf. Solheim and his company are credited with numerous innovations that became industry standards, including perimeter weighting, custom fitting and the use of investment casting in the manufacturing of golf clubs. His insistence on adhering to strict engineering principles and tight manufacturing tolerances raised the level of product performance and quality throughout the golf industry. Solheim is the only person to be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame as a golf club manufacturer. Today, the Phoenix-based company is under the direction of Solheim’s grandson, John K. Solheim, who leads a team of more than 1,000 dedicated employees committed to helping improve the games of golfers around the world.
